1983 – American-Thai Foundation was founded to implement the conception to build a university in Lampang, Thailand. USAID donated ongoing generous funds, making the total of 6,050,000 US dollars.
1988 – President of Baylor University and Vice Prime Minister of Thailand observed the ceremony to open the university’s first building and first students.
1990 – On January 26, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn opens the building on the new campus on Doi Phrabat. This day is now recognized as the founding day of Yonok University
1992 – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn opened the buildings for the Faculty of Communication Arts, Social Sciences, and the Humanities.
1994 – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn opened a multipurpose building, which serves as a location for library and graduate schools.
1998 – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn and Her Majesty the Queen meet the President of Stanford University
1999 – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn met the President of Baylor University
2001 – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn opened Dr. Tiam Chokewattana Foundation Building.
2002 – Joe and Bessie Baxter Christian Student Center, the building also used for administration of Yonok Foundation, was opened.
2004 – Supachai Panichpakdi Library was opened.
